FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Curcumin and resveratrol both can have health-promoting effects, like improving cellular energetics and liver function, helping resist oxidative stress in your cells, helping your metabolism and blood vessel health, and more. Each of them do it in a slightly different manner, so they work synergistically in the body.
Liposomal delivery has been known to provide more rapid delivery and optimal uptake in delivering nutrients to the body. Because of its enhanced absorption, nutrients delivered in liposomal form in lesser dosage may offer equal or greater efficacy than higher dosage in more traditional forms that are less bioavailable.
Resveratrol naturally occurs in foods like grapes, cranberries, and peanuts. In supplements it is usually sourced from a renewable plant called Japanese Knotweed.
Valimenta believes that this is the best tasting glutathione on the market. The glutathione molecule does contain cysteine, a sulfur-containing amino acid, which can make it taste a bit like rotten eggs. The product is flavored to try to eliminate the sulfur, but some people can still taste it. It’s a good idea to rinse your mouth after taking it if this bothers you.
CELLg8® is a nutrient delivery system that has been clinically proven through safety, absorption, and blood glucose studies to enhance the absorption of most vitamins, minerals, and herbs.
While traditional vitamins and supplements hold many health benefits, the majority of their active compounds are destroyed during digestion – that’s where CELLg8® comes in. Our 8th generation of liposome technology has become the Infinite Solution, delivering maximum nutrient absorption throughout the body.
Resveratrol is a plant-based compound that helps plants resist damage by stressful environments. When humans eat plants containing resveratrol, or a resveratrol supplement, it acts as an antioxidant that helps our cells resist damage from oxygen in the environment.
Glutathione is a molecule that consists of three amino acids: glycine, cysteine, and glutamic acid.
Curcumin is the bright yellow-orange pigment from Turmeric root. Curcumin is actually a mix of three very similar compounds from this root.
While curcumin and resveratrol are generally very safe you might experience some temporary gastrointestinal discomfort.
Glutathione is the universal antioxidant in the body. It is active in all your cells, protecting them from what’s called “oxidative stress.”
Liposomes are tiny lipid (fat molecule) bubbles. They are made out of the same fat as our own cell membranes making them naturally bio-compatible and stable. These liposomes can be designed to carry nutrients. If formulated correctly, liposomal supplements can facilitate absorption as soon as they land on the tongue, and can help protect nutritional breakdown by digestive acids and enzymes. Because they are made of the same lipids that compose our own cell membranes, they may effectively get absorbed and optimize cellular support by offering its own nutritional benefits.
In this regard, reduced means that it is not oxidized. Our product is indeed reduced. When it does its job in the body it becomes oxidized, then can be recycled to become reduced again by other antioxidants like vitamin C and vitamin E.
While adding a black pepper extract to curcumin does increase its bioavailability about 5-6 times, preparations like liposomes can increase absorption far more, possibly up to 30 times.
The advantage of taking liposomal glutathione is that the liposomes protect the glutathione molecule from being damaged or disassembled in the stomach, which allows more of it to be absorbed in the intestines.
Yes, typically curcumin is very poorly absorbed. Many supplement companies have tried to overcome this, with varying success. Taking a liposomal curcumin can significantly increase the amount that gets absorbed into the bloodstream.
We encounter oxidative stress all the time, so it is recommended that most people supplement with glutathione. Since we make less of it as we age it is a good idea to supplement.
Societal and ethical considerations aside, research does support its use in reducing the amount of melanin in the skin. There is some research that also backs up the use of glutathione in lightening dark spots on the skin and reducing the appearance of wrinkles.
Resveratrol has been shown in clinical studies to enhance the production of nitric oxide in blood vessels, which results in greater blood flow. Increasing nitric oxide can make blood vessels more elastic and healthier.
We recommend taking 250 mg once daily, unless your health care provider recommends you take more.
It is generally a good idea to give it one full bottle, although most people experience the desired effect much sooner.
While it is true that research in mice showed that older mice looked and acted like younger mice, this doesn’t necessarily translate to humans.
Glutathione is involved in normal detoxification processes in the liver, so more of it can allow your liver to do its job of detoxifying substances better.
You don’t have to, but it appears that taking it with food can increase its absorption.
Glutathione is considered to be very safe; however, taking too much might result in some gastrointestinal symptoms like gas, bloating, or diarrhea.
While research does show that taking 500 mg of resveratrol daily can make cells more sensitive to insulin, we can’t claim that resveratrol will treat diabetes.
While glutathione is considered very safe, we recommend that you consult with your health care provider before giving it to your child.
There is little research on pregnant women taking glutathione; however, research looking at glutathione levels in pregnancy show that low blood levels might increase the risk of adverse events in pregnancy. Consult with your health care provider if you are considering taking glutathione in pregnancy.
Occasionally individuals can have some gastrointestinal discomfort like gas or bloating, but nothing serious.
There is no credible clinical research showing either ingredient to be a blood thinner. Any time you add anything to your regimen you should discuss it with your physician first.
