RECAP: Kobe Bryant’s Top 10 Rules for Success – Ep. 10 – Mind Movers Updates & Training

To remember Kobe Bryant, this week’s Mind Mover training was inspired by the legacy he too quickly left behind. Kobe’s life was a testament to the fact that achieving greatness does not require circumstances, or luck. Greatness means having the sheer desire to be the best you possibly can and the willingness to do whatever it takes to achieve it.

Training Topic for the day:

KOBE BRYANT’S TOP 10 RULES FOR SUCCESS

1) HAVE A CHAMPION’S MENTALITY
Determine what your end goal will be and always focus on it. It means you’re committed to success. Kobe Bryant’s mindset and work-ethic made his dream to become the best come true. Listen to the right people and as for the others don’t allow any negativity affect your mind.
Kobe told a story about his great friend and fellow basketball great LeBron James that says it all about his refusal to accept mediocrity or slackness. ‘I always aimed to kill the opposition,’ he said. ‘LeBron and I discussed was what constitutes a killer mentality. He watched how I approached every single practice, and I constantly challenged him and the rest of the guys. I remember one half when we were messing around. I came into the locker room at half-time and I said to the guys – in a less PG manner – what in the hell we were doing? LeBron responded in a big way, he came out with a truly dominant mindset. And I’ve seen him lead that way ever since.’

2) OUTWORK YOUR POTENTIAL
Go beyond what you think your limit is. It doesn’t matter how good you think you have become at your chosen skill or craft, there is always potential for more learning. Many successful people might let their achievements go to their head, and make them think there’s nothing they can improve upon, but Kobe kept pushing himself and his outdoing his own success.

3) LEARN FROM YOUR FAILURES
A failure is your opportunity to show to yourself and to the world what you can overcome. Where there is failure, there’s a chance for growth. Not only that, but it means your constantly bettering yourself and giving yourself more opportunities in the future. When you overcome shortcomings you grow stronger as a person, and that can only be a good thing.

4) BE A LONG-TERM THINKER
Here at ByDzyne we are long-term thinkers. The leadership is constantly thinking about the future and how we’re going to grow as a company to achieve our goal to become a legacy company. With this assurance, you can be confident of the business you create here at ByDzyne, and that you have leaders who are always rooting for your success.
If you feel disheartened at times when things may not seem to be going as plan, don’t give up. Remember that this is a marathon and not a sprint. It’s about your endurance and how hard you’re willing to work to reach your goals. You may not get there soon, but you will get there and you will get there with us!

5) FIND YOUR PASSION
“The examples are endless but my philosophy is simple. Once I knew my seed, I was able to discover my muse and my purpose for being was crystal clear.” – Kobe Bryant, The Beautiful Scar.
Find your passion. Find what it is that makes you happy and passionate in life. At ByDzyne with the power of choice, you have the opportunity to be passionate about travel or passionate about tech or about education and forex. With such a diverse offering, you can find your passion at ByDzyne and make it your 24/7. Find something you love, and you will never work a day in your life!

6) CHALLENGE YOURSELF TO GROW
Challenge yourself to go the extra mile to get that extra result. What’s the difference between ordinary and extra ordinary? The word extra.
In Kobe’s case, the strongest example of overcoming challenges was when he came back from his Achilles tendon injury, proving everybody wrong. Kobe had the confidence and belief that he could come back from the injury, and he did just that. The fact that the chances of coming back after such an injury were low, made the challenge even more exciting, said Kobe. “I have moments and I have days where I doubt myself. But to me, that’s the exciting part of the challenge. That’s when I realize this is a great opportunity to come out and show everybody this is how you bounce back. This is how you respond to a challenge.” – Kobe Bryant

7) KEEP GOING
Don’t quit, be aggressive. Kobe was as desperate to win at the end of his career as he was at the start. ‘I had a different drive,’ he said. ‘The kind that made people uneasy. Some people wanted me to come back down to earth, to come down to their level, to relax. But I couldn’t. It wasn’t in my DNA. Because to go where others have never gone, you have to do what others have never done. We don’t quit, we don’t cower, we don’t run. We endure and conquer.’

8) PROTECT YOUR DREAMS
Keep negativity at bay and don’t let it dissuade you. The most valuable thing you have for your future is your mindset. With the right mindset and passion others will be able to feed off of that positivity.

9) BE DRIVEN
Know what you’re running for, and you’ll never sleep. Kobe’s drive was incomparable and superseded his peers. One day he called up his trainer at 4am to come and help him practice, and 20 minutes later when his trainer arrived, Kobe was already drenched in sweat. They trained for a few hours on court and in the weight room, until his trainer went back to get some practice before the team practice at 11am. When he came back, Kobe was on the other side of court practicing jump shots. He’d only just finished his morning training, right before team practice. Kobe had been there for at least 7 hours before the team training had even begun.

It’s easier to be driven when you have found your reason, your why. Kobe found his calling and knew exactly what he wanted from a very young age. His drive and resilience is what made him the best.

10) ACHIEVE GREATNESS
Greatness is not measured by what a man or woman accomplishes, but by the opposition he or she has overcome to reach his goals.Work day in, day out, rinse and repeat. Don’t let anyone say that you didn’t give it your all and always give it your 2000%.

“It’s the one thing you can control. You are responsible for how people remember you—or don’t. So don’t take it lightly.” — Kobe Bryant
