Why you should probably sleep on it

Our generation is conscious and deliberate. We’re more self-aware today than any of the generations before us. We constantly look for ways to better our lives from the inside out. Yoga, spirituality, healthy eating, travel and positive thinking, are just a few things. We know that if we reward our bodies, we can push ourselves to achieve anything we want in life. And so, we hustle hard.

From the time you wake up, it’s all about how you’re going to seize the day. Your family, your job, your to-do lists, the responsibilities – it’s endless and constant. But it’s important to remember that while we’re hustling, we take a minute to rest and refresh and re-calibrate.

We need to understand that as much as we take care of our bodies while we’re active – through exercise and diet, it’s as important to take care of our bodies, when we’re not active – by sleeping.

Know that the reason your brain is constantly active and never at rest, is because it physically cannot stop working, even at night your brain is working. But our bodies go through the motions of the day, and does so much that it does get weary and tired. It needs sufficient amount of rest to get through the next day.

So take a moment to think about how much sleep you get and if it’s enough. If it isn’t, know that there are more benefits to sleeping well than anything else. Sleep is definitely not for the weak!

For your mental well being, a good night’s sleep can help your mood, help you stay motivated, engaged and sharp. Sleep can enhance your memory, concentration, productivity and problem solving skills. A good amount of sleep is also known to be linked to your mental health in preventing feelings of anxiety and depression.

Physically, sleep does wonders. Your immunity levels grow strong and stable, enabling you to fight common infections. Your body while asleep also repairs important cells and tissues. On the inverse, sleep loss has been known to lead to long-term inflammation of the digestive tract, in inflammatory bowel diseases.

But if you’re still convinced that you probably don’t suffer from a lack of sleep, don’t let us tell you what to do. Our t?w smartwatch™ can help you track and gather your daily routine including how much rest you actually do get. It is the most convenient device we could have literally on hand. Because we’re so busy taking care of everything else, we need a constant reminder telling us how much is okay for our bodies. And nothing is more telling than facts and data.
