5 myths about CBD and its usage…

CBD (Cannabidiol) may seem like a controversial issue, while it really is the future of science as more people are starting to see now. But it’s only natural to be skeptical of something derived from controversy. That’s why ByDyzne is here to dispel some common pre conceived notions.

But before going further, let’s quickly understand a little about cannabinoids. Cannabinoids are the primary chemical compounds produced by the cannabis plant. They are the elements that are most responsible for the effects that cannabis has on the body (not necessarily psychoactive). There are more than 100 cannabinoids that have been discovered. And the most well-known cannabinoids are Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and Cannabidiol (CBD). THC is the only cannabinoid known to be highly psychoactive, whereas CBD (found in ALLUR) is non-psychoactive.

To clear the air once and for all, we’ll address the most common myths surrounding CBDs and share the reality of it.

Myth 1: “CBD is intoxicating.”

CBD is not psychoactive unlike it’s counterpart THC. However, that is not to say that CBD does not impact a person in positive ways. For example, if a depressed patient takes a low dose of a CBD sublingual spray and has a great day for the first time in a long while, it is definitely a powerful mood altering compound with positive effects.

Myth 2: “CBD hemp oil and medical marijuana are the same.”

As a follow up to the first point, it’s important to know right off the bat that CBD is only an extract of cannabis, which is completely different from medical marijuana. Also, there is only a small category of cannabis that actually comes under the category of marijuana.

Myth 3: “ CBD oil is addictive.”

CBD does not work in the same way as cannabis and is not addictive. However, CDB oil will stimulate your dopamine and serotonin levels giving you a ‘feel good’ factor which can help when you are suffering with pain, depression and other related conditions.

Did you know that all categories of vertebrae (from humans to animals, fish and birds) have an endocannabinoid system? Just like all the other systems in our body, the endocannabinoid system is found throughout the entire body (brain, immune system, spinal cord, organs, skin, etc.) and helps the body maintain balance. It regulates several bodily functions like sleep, pain perception, mood, memory, reproduction, appetite, and inflammation.

Our endocannabinoid system controls and regulates many functions in our body, from sleep, inflammation, mood and appetite. Research shows that CBD oil can generate more of our natural cannabinoids restoring that necessary balance and harmony to our body and mind, when it has been degraded.

Myth 4: “Bigger the dose, the better.”

While one would assume that a bigger does might be more effective, this actually is a false assumption.

You probably will not fatally overdose if you ingest too much CBD. But taking too much may inversely lessen its effectiveness. More isn’t always more effective.

Myth 5: “There is Little Science to Support the Benefits of CBD.”

The claims about CBD are no longer subjective. Because of the rise in popularity of CBD over the past few years, there has been a significant amount of research to back up these subjective claims. Several preclinical research studies, as well clinical human studies have been conducted to support the benefits of CBD.

FACT:

According to CBD School, “Perhaps the widest body of clinical research has been conducted on the ability of CBD to help reduce seizures associated with childhood epilepsy. CBD has shown to be so effective at treating seizures in children that a synthetic version of CBD known as Epidiolex was recently approved for the treatment of seizures in people two-years-old and older suffering from Dravet syndrome and Lennox-Gastaut syndrome, two forms of rare and intractable epilepsy.

The effects of CBD on anxiety have also been widely studied, an area where CBD holds great potential. A 2015 review, for example, found that CBD has considerable potential as a treatment for multiple anxiety disorders.”
